Editing Part 2

photos of the computer/phone screen during editing: I used two different apps to edit and trim the video clips together, then to add voiceovers and get rid of really bad excess background noise

  • a discussion about titles and fonts you decided to put into your movie
  • I originally wanted to do subtitles and have shots in between certain scenes of blank black screens with a short dramatic gong sound, but I decided against it since there were more important things to correct about this messy first draft.
  • a discussion of the video effects used
  • I used cuts for all the transition, and no special effects were used beside adding the brief ending credits.
a discussion of the video transitions used
  • Again, just cuts. Hopefully it can be better edited if I had actual help for the final draft.
a discussion of the audio effects used
  • I did use a voiceover to add Reid’s “new reporter” voice over the shots of Isaiah wiping down the tables.
    problems encountered during editing
  • I had to go through several editing apps to find ones that had the accessible features I wanted to use, but none of them let me muffle the background sounds as much as I would have liked too.
solutions to problems encountered during editing
  • I settled for lowering the original audio in a few clips and especially in the clips with Reid’s voiceover so they were more prominent.
    amount of time spent editing
  • I spent somewhere between 2 and 3 hours editing.
names of people involved in editing
  • Christlie Poteau
a discussion of additional filming you may have done because of discoveries during editing
  • We did not have the time to do reshoots like we were hoping too, though we did plan to meet again the next weekend. Individual schedules got in the way and there was just not that much commitment in general from the group, including myself, to do reshoots. Hopefully this will be corrected after we receive criticism on our first draft.
